Consumer health data privacy policy
This policy covers the consumer health data that Mentmates ("Ment") collects, as defined by Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar state laws.
Consumer health data we collect
From WHOOP, when you connect it: day strain, steps, energy burned, heart rate (average, maximum and resting), heart rate variability, recovery score, blood oxygen, skin temperature, respiratory rate, sleep timing, stages and scores, and workouts (sport, strain, time in heart-rate zones, distance and altitude gain). We also calculate your usual activity, points, quests, level and your Ment's daily state and form from that data.
Why we collect it and how we use it
To run the game you asked for: learning your usual activity, awarding points and quests, running fights and crews, and showing your Ment's daily state. To support you and keep Ment working: our team can see your Ment's level and points and whether WHOOP is connected, and counts across all players (how many completed quests, for example), never your WHOOP numbers. We don't sell it and don't use it for advertising.
Where it comes from
WHOOP, through its API, after you authorize Ment on WHOOP's page; and Ment's own calculations from that data.
What we share and with whom
We share consumer health data with the service provider that hosts Ment's servers and database: Render. No affiliates receive it. If you separately choose to share, other Ment players you pick (friends, fight opponents and crewmates) see results derived from it: your Ment's look, level, body, daily state and form, your points this week and your streak if you choose to show them, and percentages relative to your own usual. They don't see the underlying numbers, except your daily averages inside a plain-totals fight or crew you accepted and joined.
Your rights and how to use them
You can confirm whether we collect your consumer health data, see it, get a list of the third parties and affiliates we shared it with, delete it, and withdraw your consent. Use Settings in the app (Export my data, Sharing, Disconnect WHOOP, Delete my account) or write to contact@mentmate.io. We respond within 45 days. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. If we deny your appeal, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General.
